Milan to sign Borja Valero, abandons Lucas Biglia
AC Milan have quit the idea to sign Lucas Biglia due to Lazio’s hefty demands and will try to sign Borja Valero according to Marca.
MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – Clamorous news about Milan’s next transfer moves arrives from Spain. According to Marca, Milan have totally abandoned Lucas Biglia due to Lazio’s hefty demands. Lazio’s president, Claudio Lotito, wants 25 millions for his services while the rossoneri have no intention to offer more than 15 millions plus bonuses. The Spanish press reports that AC Milan have gone all in on Fiorentina’s midfielder Borja Valero.
The 32 year old has been part of Fiorentina since 2012 when joining from Villarreal for 7 million euros and has constantly been one of the best midfielders in Italy ever since. The cost of this operation is believed to be around 10 million euros with Fiorentina willing to negotiate. Borja Valero was a fundamental part of Fiorentina when that team was coached by Milan’s current manager Vincenzo Montella. The manager still considers the Spaniard able to be a key player and is willing to trust him the organization of Milan’s game. Always according to Marca, such a negotiation can be closed quickly in the same style as Andre Silva (the whole negotiations lasted 8 days) and it may be officialized next week.
Borja Valero’s signing would be a surprise because all these days Massimiliano Mirabelli has tried to convince Lazio to lower their pretensions for the 31 year old Lucas Biglia. Even though, last year, Milan made an inquiry for the Spaniard midfielder when the transfer market was run by former CEO, Adriano Galliani. Like in the case of Mateo Musacchio, Milan didn’t have the necessary money to close such a deal then. Perhaps this time, both ex Villarreal players can rejoin at AC Milan. Borja Valero may not be a young player but like Andrea Pirlo did a few years ago, he can play two or three season at the highest levels. This season the Viola midfielder played 32 Serie A matches scoring once and assisting 9 times. His arrival would give Montella the missing deep lying playmaker has been asking for so long.
